Long lunches, sun on the bench, kettle on for round two.

Designed and built this alfresco kitchen with Bestmate Landscapes so the cooking didn't have to stop at the back door. Stone holds up to the heat, hardwood brings the warmth, concrete ties it together and copes with whatever Sydney throws at it.

Drawings sorted with the homeowners, panels cut clean out of the Brookvale workshop, then back on site to fit it all in. Proper solid finish and the kind of result that's holding up the way it was drawn.

Blum SERVO-DRIVE Aventos sorts it.

A nudge with your elbow, a tap on the front, or a quick press of the button and the whole door lifts up out of your way. Press the button again when you're done and it closes itself, smooth as you like. These are the bits that make a kitchen actually nice to live in.

Who could guess what's behind the wall? 🧐

What looks like a bit of classic wall detailing is actually a full linen cupboard hiding behind the wainscoting, chair rail and skirting. We carried the trim straight across the doors so the whole thing plays dress-ups as part of the wall, right up until someone pushes it open and finds a stack of towels staring back at them.

Good fun for a hallway, sneaky for an ensuite, and honestly a bit of a party trick when guests can't work out where you're keeping all your linen.

The clever bit is that the system comes in different runner lengths and weight ranges, so it works on a shallow cutlery drawer and a deep pot drawer without any compromise.
