Have you heard of Back2CAD? It uses the same commands as Autocad and the file is also dwg and compatible with Autocad. The only difference is the price. USD$300 for a perpetual license.

I have been using it and it is excellent. I don't know how it is legal for one company to partially copy AutoCAD.

Hello. I live in Brisbane and I am preparing house plans for builders only because a builder is permitted to submit his or her own drawings to a certifier. I will prepare neat and detailed house plans for you at approximately $300 per set of full working drawings. This includes 9 x A3 pages. I have 6 years structural drafting experience and timber framing for residential buildings. I hope to hear from you if you a licensed builder.
