Much like our Mesa desks we made a side table to sort out the cable clutter around our home. I never liked the mess of cables sitting next to our beds and was always frustrated by our charging cables falling off the side table. Enter your typical problem-solving engineer! It's always special to add another piece to our catalogue of furniture, we call this one Platform. Unlike our other pieces, this is more of an add-on made specifically for standing desks. These timber legs retrofit onto sit stand desks, instantly improving their look and stability.

More often than not it turns out better than expected but as with doing anything new, the nerves are always around, keeping me on the edge of being in control and being overwhelmed. Stepping outside the ol' comfort zone!

Custom Oak dining table with Blackwood and resin inlay. We got to try out a couple new things for us on this build, such as the inlay work on top. The pattern on the table top was sketched on a computer and carved out on our CNC before being filled with tinted resins. This was a lot of fun to make and made us wonder of the endless design possibilities.

About Us

We love woodworking and happen to loathe cable clutter, especially the ones lurking beneath our desks. Now add a bit of engineering, unhealthy levels of persistence and coffee, and we have our 1st prototype, a tiny legless table with a box attached. 2 years later we made Mesa 57, a beautifully crafted, mid-century modern, seriously solid wood desk. A desk designed for the devices we use on them, minimising cable visibility, without compromising on materials and aesthetics. The desk, plugged in.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, we found inspiration by looking at our own cable chaos. Dissatisfied with the lack of integrated solutions, we realised the potential for clarity. For one with clarity, is one without clutter, both inside and out. 🙏🏽
