Highlands Revamp

Highlands Revamp At Highlands Revamp, we breathe new life into beautiful old pieces-restoring, refreshing and reimagining them with love and care.

Based in the Southern Highlands, NSW, we believe that every piece has a story to tell, and we love helping it shine again.

I thought I would show you one of the pieces we’re working on this week (also reimagining a table and six chairs as well, so a busy week!) but also show some of my favourite details and also least favourite details of this piece.

This is a gorgeous old vintage buffet/hutch that is super heavy, and is probably one of the heaviest pieces for this size that I’ve come across, but hidden behind all of that grime and dirt is a beautiful old lady waiting for her moment to shine ✨

Keep watching as I can’t wait to show you her new look!

Our next BYO Piece Chalk Paint class is on Saturday June 13 and there are only a couple of spots left as we keep our classes deliberately small so that you receive lots of attention!

In this full day workshop, you’ll work on your own small piece of furniture - think a bedside table, side table or chair (something you can lift and fit in your car) You’ll learn how to transform it using beautiful, versatile Artisan Chalk paint and leave with a piece you’ll be proud to say you refinished yourself.

Throughout the day we’ll cover: Best preparation techniques Painting techniques Finishing and sealing for durability

This is a great class for beginners, and also ideal if you’ve used chalk paint before and would love to build confidence and learn new techniques.

We will supply everything that you need to complete your piece and morning tea, all you need to bring is your own small furniture piece, your lunch and your enthusiasm!!

Booking is easy through our website (I’ve popped the link below) or please send a message

This gorgeous vintage dresser was once one of our own pieces, but after a little reshuffle at home, it was time for her to find a new home. 💚
I’m so happy to say she has found the perfect place at Relax Deer in Picton!
Painted in beautiful Artisan Cotswold Green, this rich, restful shade is incredibly versatile and works beautifully in both modern and traditional spaces. Full of character, beautifully crafted, and wonderfully solid, this dresser is a true example of the quality and charm that vintage furniture offers.
The leadlight doors are in amazing condition, and I had them professionally repaired when I first acquired the piece to ensure they could continue to be enjoyed for years to come.
If you’re in Picton, pop in and say hello to this gorgeous old lady. While you’re there, be sure to check out the beautiful candles and gifts at Relax Deer too! ✨

Today we held our Rustification class and apologies - I didn’t get many photos 😅 but I can assure that everyone enjoyed themselves, learnt something new and of course, everyone’s pieces looked so individual!!

I will post pics over the coming days of finished rusty pieces as they will need a day or two to completely rust with this colder weather.

Our next class is on Saturday June 13 and is a day long BYO Piece Chalk Paint class. If you would love to cone along please book your spot through our website (the link is in our bio ⬆️)- we would love to see you here!
