It’s been a busy couple of weeks here at Highlands Revamp, and I’m very happy to say that these quirky little Pooh Bear-inspired bedsides have now SOLD! 🐻🍯✨

They’ll be heading off to their new home shortly, which is wonderful news… but it does mean I’ve suddenly realised that I don’t have nearly as many ready-to-go pieces as I’d like for the Centennial Vineyards Market this Sunday! 😳

So, it looks like I really need to get to work this week — there’s sanding, painting, finishing and plenty of revamping to be done! 😂

Wish me luck… I think I’m going to need it! 🤣

Our next class is happening on Saturday, September 19, and this one is a gorgeous little morning of creativity, sparkle and a touch of old-world glamour.

We’ll be creating some gorgeous little project pieces with a Vintage Faded Glamour theme — think Film Noir movie stars, old Hollywood, faded elegance… or simply a little bit of faded sparkle! ✨🥂

This super handy hall bench has now sold and is off to its new home!!

A few days ago I shared some pictures of this beautiful vintage cutlery canteen, and one of my lovely clients had the most amazing idea for giving it a whole new purpose — a “knitting canteen”! 🧶

The brief was to create dividers to keep all those important knitting essentials organised — needles, measuring tapes, pins and all the other bits and pieces that somehow seem to accumulate when you love to knit!

This is where Kirk stepped in to bring the idea to life. Following the brief, he created this clever and imaginative internal setup, transforming this vintage canteen into something completely unique and perfectly suited to its new owner.

And so, this lovely old piece is now off to its new home, ready for a long (and slightly different!) life from the one it was originally designed for. ❤️

It’s projects like this that remind us that sometimes a piece you already love just needs a little imagination — and perhaps a few modifications — to make it work beautifully for you.

Here is one of the pieces I’ve been working on this week — and if it looks familiar, you may have spotted it in a recent reel in its “before” state! 👀

This is such a wonderfully versatile little piece. My immediate thought was that it would work beautifully in a mudroom or entryway, with those lovely deep drawers perfect for hiding away shoes, keys, sunnies and all those little things that seem to accumulate by the door! 😆

But I could also see it working beautifully as a handy little bench in a bedroom, at the end of a bed or even in a dressing area.

You’ll notice that some of the photos show the piece with its timber top, while others show it with a full-size cushion. The large cushion does come with the piece, so you can choose whether you’d like to use it with the cushion or keep the beautiful timber top on display — giving you a couple of different looks depending on where and how you use it.

And can we talk about this colour? 💚 This beautiful, rich green is Artisan Mineral Paint in Highlands — a deep, moody shade reminiscent of the rugged Scottish Highlands.

Our next BYO Piece Workshop will be our FINAL full-day BYO Piece class for the year! 🎨✨
