Boonah Activity Shed The Boonah Activity Shed welcomes new members. Based on the Men’s Shed concept, both men and women are welcome in Boonah.

The group meets under the horticultural building on the Boonah Showgrounds every Monday and Friday from 8.30am to 12.30pm.

Friday saw morning tea with the Principal, Dan Marrone and staff from Boonah State High School, saw the handing over of a sanding machine to the Woodwork department.
While surplus to our requirements it will be put to good use by the students.
Dan thanked the shed for this generous donation and invited the shed members to attend morning tea in the technology department to meet the students.
A wonderful donation and congratulations to all involved.

The drawing of the raffle was conducted by Greg Maynard with 13 prizes distributed to locals.
Enjoyed the secret Santa and the BBQ lunch.

Members of the Boonah Activity Shed were acknowledged during the recent visit of Rods Inc to Boonah Showgrounds for their annual "Festival of Wheels". President Gail and Shed Supervisor, Sandy gratefully received a cheque for $2000 acknowledging the work the shed does in the wider community, providing recreational opportunities for older people and its commitment to improving mental health in the region.
In return, the Shed presented Rods Inc President, Brian with a handcrafted wooden box for their use.
This event generates considerable income for the local economy due to the large number of visitors from out of town and we look forward to welcoming them again next year.

A busy morning with a visit from Mayor Tom Sharp.
The shed hosted the visit that showcased many of the activities and projects undertaken by members.
The Mayor highlighted the contribution that members make to the community. He identified their work with mental health prevention and the sheds work with younger people.
A morning tea, music by Jon King, card games and a BBQ rounded off a great morning.
