More progress on the plaster frame restoration.
Once the new castings have been secured using resin to the existing frame, additional plaster is applied ready for shaping then carved to match the old with the new.
Once happy with the result a white primer paint is applied, once dry it is followed by oil base paint (Indian Red) is applied. The reason for using a red color means that the following coats of Gold/Broze will have depth. This method of color sequence is a tried and true process used on plaster or wooden cared frames for centuries.
So much more work to be done.
