Some pieces that come through our workshop become much more than furniture.

This beautiful bentwood armchair was recently reupholstered in a soft sage gum nut fabric for one of our treasured regular clients. Over the years, we had the privilege of restoring several pieces for her home, each one carefully chosen and deeply loved.

Sadly, she has since passed away, making this chair one of the last projects we completed for her.

Working on heirloom furniture often reminds us that upholstery is about more than fabric, springs, and timber. Furniture becomes part of the stories we live. It witnesses family conversations, quiet mornings with a cup of tea, celebrations, and moments of reflection. Long after we’re gone, these pieces can continue carrying those memories forward.

We feel honoured to have played a small part in preserving something that was clearly cherished. It’s a reminder that restoration isn’t just about renewing furniture; it’s about respecting the memories, history, and people connected to it.

This chair now stands as a beautiful tribute to a lovely, cheerful, kind and generous client who will be remembered fondly and missed greatly.

Some projects are extra special 💚🌼

Our client brought us this beautiful floral fabric that had belonged to her mum and had been carefully tucked away in a cupboard for many years. Wanting to honour those memories while giving it a new life, we worked together to find the perfect way to feature it in these chairs.

We chose to use the floral fabric on the back panels, helping to protect and preserve it for years to come, while adding such a lovely personal touch and character to each piece. Paired with this vibrant green fabric , the chairs feel fresh, full of warmth, and beautifully unique.

There’s something so meaningful about weaving family stories into furniture that can be loved and used every day ✨

Our client brought us a pair of mid-century modern Danish deluxe armchairs that once belonged to their mother. Originally covered in a classic floral, these pieces held decades of memories… but it was time for a new chapter.🪑🩵🪑
The clean lines of the timber frame are elevated by the richness of the colour, creating a statement that is both timeless and quietly bold.
We reupholstered the chairs in a refined cerulean blue natural linen . A fabric choice that is both elegant and considered. By selecting a natural fibre, our client made a conscious move away from synthetic fabrics and microplastics, without compromising on style. 🌿🌍

This chalet makeover highlights some of our favourite Mokum fabrics. The banquet seat & corner seating with the stunning view in PANIE HUSK with complimenting scatter cushions in OTTICA BRONZE. The cosy sofa has been freshly reupholstered in SOLE BOUCLE OCHRE (On site due to its size! But that’s ok, we loved the view 🤩) Two ultra comfy arm chairs now upholstered in MODERNIST BURNT UMBER. There’s something special about giving old furniture a second life 🤍
We recently reupholstered this lounge suite, choosing a fresh new fabric to brighten up the space, but our client mentioned that the grandkids were sad to see the original fabric change. That lounge held years of family stories, cuddles, movie nights, and precious moments with the grandchildren.
So instead of saying goodbye to those memories, we turned the saved fabric into scatter cushions 🛋️✨
Now, every time the grandkids visit, a little piece of the “old lounge” is still there, stitched into cushions that carry all those sentimental memories forward. It’s such a beautiful way to honour the past while making the space feel new again.
Sometimes it’s not about replacing things… it’s about reimagining them and keeping the heart of home alive ☺️

Once dressed in a worn boucle fabric, it brought warmth and softness to the space. Now, it’s been completely transformed in a rich royal velvet. What a difference! 🤩 The deep color and plush texture give it a sophisticated, statement-making presence while still keeping all the comfort that made it so beloved.

✨This comfy chair has had quite the journey ✨
Once belonging to our client’s grandfather, this armchair has seen decades of family life. No doubt many chats, cups of teas and quiet moments. And now? It’s had a seriously style overhaul!
We’ve reupholstered it in a bold Art Deco print that completely transforms it. TARANTINO SAPPHIRE- The geometric pattern gives it that classic 1920s vibe, but it feels fresh, fun, and right at home in a modern space. The complimenting piping and matching cushion gives a unique look. We also changed the front arm plates for a more sleek and stylish appeal. 👌
We love projects like this where we get to keep the bones, the memories, and the character, but give the piece a whole new energy.
