Damascus course done and dusted, with one happy Scotty
came back as repeat student determined to make a Damascus knife after competed 2 high carbon steel knives last time.

120 layer Damascus western chefs knife with a red Morrell handle

Day 1, Scotty forged out a 120 layer billet of Damascus in 3 hours then forged the knife and surface ground ready for heat treat. Tempered over night.

Day 2, ground bevels, hand sanded, and completed 2 of my Damascus etching cycles, for those who know there’s a bit to them… then left in coffee overnight.

Day 3, prepped the handle material, squared and refined the tang, glued up, sanded and oiled. Finished off with a sharpen.

All in all great weekend class
