I know most people are going to disagree with me but I ❤️Jetstar . Let me tell you about a recent flight from Ballina to Melbourne. We arrived at airport 90mins before and plane was on time . After boarding we were informed that the plane has an engine fault so we had to disembark back to the terminal . We waited about an hour and then was informed that they needed a technician from the Gold Coast . Unfortunately they plane couldn’t be fixed so we were given options to either rebook flight or they would bus us to the Gold Coast and put us up in an airport the next day out of Gold Coast . We took that option and they actually sent us to the Hilton at surfers paradise . They gave us a $30 voucher each for food . Breakfast was awesome and cost $50 each and we were happy to pay the difference but the hotel just waived it . Caught an Uber to the airport the next day and was told to send receipt and they would reimburse us . We were sent a link to Jetstar for reimbursement and thought we would try our luck for the hotel night we missed out in Melbourne and they paid that as well . All within 2 days . The Jetstar staff were awesome and under pressure at the Ballina airport but were friendly and helpful to the whole plane passengers. Remember that I only paid about $80 for the flight each way .
