Kara McGlone, a Victoria based interior designer and founder of Kanari Home has a particular passion for renovation projects. Starting with something existing that is rich with history and the challenge of boundaries that each home has, the transformation in bringing old spaces back to life is where her talent lies. Interiors with depth and a story to tell is what you’ll experience with Kanari Home.

During the renovation journey of her own home it was at the forefront to pair its classic features and character with her love of contemporary pieces rich in colour and bold in structure.

With its brilliant white base and abundance of natural textures, this reborn mid-century home reveals enchanting surprises at every turn.

Our Big Easy sofa was the perfect choice with its simplicity, low profile and subtle curves for this three level 1950’s home located in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs, featured in this months magazine.

Set against a crisp white canvas, the interiors feature adventurous bursts of sumptuous hues, from rusty caramel and deep terracotta to rich burgundy and verdant shades of green. “Colour is my thing and I love combining it with pattern, texture and contrast that makes you feel something when entering the space,” says interior designer Jodie Carter, and we couldn’t agree more.

are a passionate team of designers and interior specialists with more than 25 years of experience, creating thoughtfully curated homes that reflect the personalities of the people who live in them.

For this project, interior designer Fiona Harding, part of the Thornton & Blake team, envisioned a versatile living space with two distinct zones: one dedicated to reading and conversation and the other designed as a media retreat. The result is a cohesive yet flexible environment that allows this large family to enjoy different activities while remaining connected within the same expansive space.

Located in Winmalee, in the beautiful Blue Mountains, this project is a wonderful example of Thornton & Blake’s considered approach to design.
