Check out this one of a kind stunner! A truly unique Tasmanian Blackheart Sassafras vanity showing off its incredible patterning with brown, black and even green highlights and spalting. It was a pleasure to work with a material that I’d never normally get a chance to use! Shout out to for the hand installing this one 🙌

Time for an update on what we’ve been up to. This project started back in 2022 at this beautiful house down in Myponga Beach, right on the edge of the cliffs. We’ve had the pleasure of slowly adding Messmate features throughout the house. Many hands have helped on this one including and with amazing styling and snaps by the client . Thanks for taking us along for the ride in completing your house with the best views in SA!

Exciting times, things are changing… Strap in for a long one.

We’ve enjoyed having our workshop in Somerton Park over the past 5 years now, but all good things must come to an end. This decision hasn’t come lightly but things will be changing. My wife, Robyn, and I will be expecting our first child in a few months time, and there’s no use in hiding the fact that the rising costs have not made things easy over the past few years. They say change is as good as a holiday, so why not run into that change with guns blazing!

The move out of Somerton Park won’t be the end of MJP Studio, but will certainly be the start of a changing face. We will be working more with others in delivering future jobs, and focusing on products, but, as has always been, we will strive to create objects that will be woven into the fabric of the family home.

Thanks to all of those that have been a part of this journey, friends, colleagues, neighbours, and of course my wife. I couldn’t have achieved half of it without the help of those around me. Thanks to all of my clients, past, present and future, for letting me be a part of making your house a home through objects that support life and all of its niceties. Until next time.

Tas Oak TV unit we installed a few weeks ago now. This brightly lit space really made the timber pop. We added a slatted front detail to conceal electronic components as well as allow for heat to dissipate from the unit. Stunning photo as per usual by

Earlier this year we designed and fitted out this wine nook for a home on the Brighton Esplanade.
