Serviceship DTSG1 moored at Handeskai Vienna: the 25.5-metre-long bunker ship was laid down in 1950 at the Scheel and Jöhnk shipyard in Hamburg-Harburg, Germany. Currently registered in Vienna with the ENI 30000122, the ship is powered by a Caterpillar engine with 193 hp. The tanker used to sail under the names Shell XVI, Walco 2, Fiwado 3, Fina Enns. The push boat „Innsbruck“ - formerly also TR 710 or Denija - is on its way upstream with two heavy cargo barges at Vienna Reichsbrücke. 2 Caterpillar 3508B engines deliver each 770 hp, the 22,52 meter long ship was built in 1982 in the Wroclawska Ricni Lodenice shipyard in Breslau, in 2000 it was taken over by DDSG Cargo and in 2003 it was reengined in Bratislava. It sails under the red-white-red flag of Austria, ENI 08548021, have a good trip!

AmaWaterways‘ *AmaReina* is a luxurious river cruise ship measuring 135 meters in length. Accommodating up to 162 passengers, it features spacious cabins with twin balconies, a heated sun deck with a pool, a fitness center, and gourmet dining options including the Main Restaurant and The Chef’s Table. Built in 2014; 135 meters long, 11.5 meters wide; ENI number 02335818.

The MS Gloria (ENI number 07001814) is an elegant river cruise ship operated by Scylla AG; built in 2005, it underwent an extensive renovation in 2023. The vessel is chartered by companies such as Phoenix Reisen and is pictured here moored at the Handelskai in Vienna.

The MS Ostara is a luxury river cruise ship operated by APT that sails along European waterways such as the Rhine, Main, and Danube—primarily between Amsterdam and Budapest. Measuring 135 meters in length, the vessel accommodates 154 guests, who are expertly looked after by a crew of 60. Combining European elegance with an Australian sense of relaxed ease, the ship offers six different dining options. The ship Wientank 1 is a mobile filling station in Vienna: the 40 meter long ship is booked and fills the large shipping at its berth, a service in Viennese style: the bunkering of cargo vessels is performed by the bunker station „Möll“, located at the Danube km 1927.8
The tanker „Wientank 2“, formerly also known as „Shell 46“, „Wotrans VI“, „Wotrans 6“, „Vorchten“. Length: 42.93 m, Width: 5.86 m, Draft: 2.16 m, Tonnage: 297,152 tons Engine power: 1 x 279 kW, manufacturer: SCANIA type DS 1402. Built in 1963 in the Jonker & Stans shipyard in Hendrijk Ido Ambacht. Bunker boats „Wientank 1“ and „Wientank 2“ supply passenger vessels in the Danube area from km 1920 to km 1936. The owner is the DDSG-Holding, Vienna, Austria.

The motor tank pushing ship (MTSS) Möll, belonging to the First Donau Dampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft, has an eventful past. The MTSS was built as a tank barge in 1961 in the Linz shipyard for COMOS (N.V. Continentale Motorscheepvaart Maatschappij, founded in 1924 Amsterdam/Vienna). In 1967, COMOS had the tank barge converted and extended into a motor tanker in the Linz shipyard, engine MWM Mannheim, 6 cyl. 4 stroke, 730 kw. built by the Lobith De Hoop shipyard in the Netherlands. Two DAF engines deliver 2 x 325 HP to the ship’s propellers. Moored as Bunkership at Handelskai Vienna as a base for several smaller mobile tankers!

The large river cruise ship Riverside Mozart was built back in 1987 at the Deggendorfer Werft und Eisenbau GmbH (DWE), Deggendorf. The length of 120 metres is not that unusual, but the width of 22.85 metres is very impressive, especially considering that the Danube locks have a usual width of 24 metres, it requires a lot of skill to manoeuvre this ship in these situations. The engine power of the two KHD SBV 6 M 628 engines is 2x 1185 kW / 2x 1612 hp. Former names of the ship were Mozart, Tui Mozart, Dertour Mozart, Mozart and Crystal Mozart, the current owner is the Hamburg Seaside Hotel Collection. The ship is registered in Hamburg with ENI 04805980 and sails under German flag, have a good trip!

First-DDSG Logistics Holding GmbH operates the vessel MS Renaissance. The 24.99 meter long ship was built in 1913 in the Verschure & Co. NV shipyard in Amsterdam as a steam-powered saloon ship. The ship is currently powered by a Volvo TMD 100 C with 275 hp. In its eventful history, the ship was under the names Ijveer-II, Animathor-II, Olmense Zoo, Almare and Navigathor, the ship was extensively restored by the DDSG and has been sailing for several years with a new name and Austrian flag, moored here in Vienna at the Handelskai: Bon voyage.

The MS Negrelli is Europe’s first floating sturgeon breeding station on the Danube in Vienna. By 2030, approximately 1.6 million sturgeon spawners are expected to be raised and released into the wild. The 66-meter-long MS Negrelli was built in Linz in 1966 as a stone transporter. Its deadweight capacity of 34.46 tons houses 35 breeding tanks for the sturgeons and their young. An exciting project by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna in collaboration with Via Donau.
