Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming 12 students and their two teachers from the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation to our office in Innsbruck.

It was lovely to spend time together, share a little of everyday life at MK Illumination and give our guests a glimpse of the people and work behind our light installations.

Summer decoration works differently.

It lives in daylight, above cafes, shops, pedestrians, and everyday movement.

In Wels, MK Illumination produced and installed flower and butterfly decorations designed to make the street feel cheerful during the day. The result is light, colorful, and easy to experience while walking through the city.

400 km. 15 colleagues. 3 days. One team. 🚴‍♀️

What started as a slightly crazy idea became one of those experiences you don’t forget.

From Innsbruck to Mestrino, to Illucere and finally the sea — through heat, punctures, tired legs, a lot of sweat and even more laughter.

But the best part wasn’t the distance. It was the team: supporting each other, waiting for each other, sharing water, energy and motivation along the way.

And at the finish line, the journey continued with time together with our Illucere colleagues, exchanging ideas, learning more about Twinkly Pro and getting to know each other beyond our daily work.

Two companies, one shared journey — and definitely a story worth remembering. 💛

That is why lighting and seasonal decoration work best when they respond to real public life, not only to the need for a visual effect. The strongest places feel useful before they feel impressive.

The best seasonal illumination often works because it fits naturally into the space — where people walk, stop, gather and look.

Before designing the feature, understand the behaviour around it.
