A historic Parisian institution enters a new chapter.

At L’Alma, in the heart of the 7th arrondissement, heritage meets contemporary refinement through the vision of architects Gilles & Boissier. The project reinterprets the identity of this iconic brasserie, balancing warmth, material richness and architectural clarity.

Within this setting, the N.811 chair, originally designed by Josef Hoffmann in 1930, integrates seamlessly into the spatial concept. Its presence supports the atmosphere without dominating it, contributing to the overall harmony of proportions, textures and light.

In hospitality design, seating plays a fundamental role: it defines comfort, influences dwell time and shapes the guest experience. At L’Alma, the N.811 becomes part of that narrative, a dialogue between timeless design and modern conviviality.

Gebrüder Thonet Vienna was proud to partner with the Viennese Kaffeesieder Ball, one of the most prestigious events of Vienna’s ball season and a key celebration of the Viennese Coffeehouse Culture, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Each year, the Hofburg is transformed into the largest coffeehouse in the world, welcoming thousands of guests to an event that brings together tradition, artistic excellence, and cultural identity.

On this occasion, we presented the Vienna 144 Limited Edition, a contemporary reinterpretation of a historic model from our collection, conceived as a tribute to Viennese coffeehouse culture and its enduring social rituals.

This partnership reaffirms our commitment to preserving cultural heritage and to fostering a dialogue between tradition and contemporary design.

At Mersea, cuisine and design come together to define a contemporary hospitality experience in the heart of Paris.

Twice Michelin-starred chef Olivier Bellin reinterprets seafood through a modern, street-inspired approach, elevated by the precision and elegance of fine dining. The interior design draws inspiration from the marine world, translating its references into materials, textures and spatial details conceived for comfort, durability and atmosphere.

Within this setting, our icons Bodystuhl, N.14 chairs and Vienna 144 Barhocker, integrate seamlessly, supporting different moments of the experience, from dining to informal conviviality, while maintaining a coherent and refined aesthetic.

Sölden chair enters the space with ease.

Among tables, light, and surfaces, it builds a composed presence.
Its form engages with the environment without seeking centrality.

A chair that structures the rhythm of the scene,
making the atmosphere more grounded, more contained.

Luxurious and elegant, with a subtle Art Deco flair, the restaurant interior recalls the refined parlours of 1920s Paris, where contrasts of materials and colors evoke the atmosphere of an equatorial rainforest.

Along the walls, Waltz, the coat rack by GamFratesi, introduces a fluid and measured gesture: its sinuous modules guiding the entrance like a silent choreography.

Brass and green velvet accents resonate with the Viennese straw of Nigel Coates’ Bodystuhl chair, its steam-bent beechwood frame shaping a generous and embracing silhouette.

The bar area features Cirque, the barstool designed by Martino Gamper: a playful composition of bentwood loops that twirl around the seat, transforming the traditional GTV gesture into a dynamic, sculptural sign.

Wood. Vienna Straw. Ceramic.

Over the years, our relationship with Quintessenza Ceramiche e has evolved through projects where the stylistic direction, entrusted to Studio Salaris, has created spaces in which our pieces naturally integrate, reflecting shared sensibilities and attention to detail.

For Cersaie 2025, in the installation for Quintessenza Ceramiche, these elements create a clear dialogue between furniture and ceramic, where forms, materials, and proportions define a contemporary and coherent design language.

The immersive six-room interpretation of “home” is shaped by textures, color, and material balance. Within this curated environment by Studio Salaris, our collaboration unfolds through a selection of GTV pieces: the Luftballon Sofa, designed by Valter C***a (GTV Design Department), and Trio, by Martino Gamper.

Like Mike is a modern trattoria in the heart of Milan that evokes the intimate and welcoming atmosphere of traditional Italian osterias, blending the culinary heritage of the Amalfi Coast with a bright, modern aesthetic designed to welcome guests and shape a meaningful experience.

The project expresses a precise balance: genuine materials, timeless forms, and a warm atmosphere that resonates with an Italian cuisine reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Every detail, from colors and textures to lighting and furniture, contributes to a space where comfort and character coexist naturally.

The seating chosen for the restaurant, the N.811 chairs and armschairs and the Vienna 144 barstools, reinforces this narrative: steam-bent beechwood, Vienna cane, harmonious proportions, and a design legacy spanning more than a century. Iconic elements that demonstrate how design can serve as a true vehicle of identity.

Single Curve Barstool embodies the essential line of Ōki Satō | nendo, a subtle gesture that unites formal purity and quiet presence.

In its natural finish, the beechwood reveals its grain, the soul of the material, in harmony with architectural silence. In its lacquered version, it becomes a graphic sign, soft or bold, bringing rhythm and personality to the space.

Designed for both contract and residential settings, the Single Curve Collection finds balance between elegance and character.

With its steam-bent curve, visual lightness, and refined craftsmanship, it speaks softly, yet with determination.

On October 24th, the third chapter of MEET THE GURU took place, the series of encounters curated by Design Terrae that brings international design into dialogue with the spirit of place.

This edition featured Piero Lissoni, architect, designer, and one of the most influential voices in contemporary design, in conversation with Aurelio Magistà.

Lightness, Quickness, Exactitude, Visibility, Multiplicity, Consistency, and even Stupidity, themes inspired by Italo Calvino’s “Six Memos for the Next Millennium”, were reinterpreted through Lissoni’s unique sensitivity and creative vision.

For the occasion, we furnished the stage with our LOÏE armchairs by Chiara Andreatti, ARCH COFFEE TABLE by Frontdesign and AROUND COLORS RUGS COLLECTION by Paola Pastorini, featured as part of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna’s sponsorship of the event.

A heartfelt thank you to Lissoni & Partners for sharing his story, and to Aurelio Magistà for guiding us through this new encounter with insight and brilliance.

Altstadt Vienna, part of the SmalLuxury Hotels of the World, is a boutique hotel where art, design, and hospitality meet in perfect harmony.

Among its many distinctive rooms, one bears the signature of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna ,a project that expresses our vision for contract interiors through the balance of craftsmanship and atmosphere.

Here, the lightness of the Viennese cane becomes a bridge between the hotel and the city, a symbol of timeless elegance and cultural continuity. Gentle curves, natural textures, and the dialogue between wood and light capture the essence of Vienna’s lifestyle: refined, tactile, and profoundly human.

Pieces such as the Mon Île Sofa by Sergio Bicego, Wagasa Lamp by Servomuto, N.200 lounge chair by Michael Anastassiades, Czech chairs by Hermann Czech, and Single Curve Coffee Table by Nendo shape a space where tradition and modernity coexist naturally, creating a dialogue of form and material.

A project that celebrates our ability to furnish the world’s most sophisticated hospitality spaces, where every detail defines the art of living beautifully, with comfort, authenticity, and enduring elegance.
