Marianna Piccolo: A Visionary in Luxury Interior Design

Marianna Piccolo is an exceptionally original and creative Italian luxury interior designer who has made a significant mark on the Dubai design scene since 2009. Twice recognized as one of the most powerful and influential Middle East designers by CID magazine, Marianna's impact is both profound and far-reaching. Her expertise and insight ha

ve made her a sought-after speaker at architectural conferences and interior design forums, including the prestigious Women in Construction Summit 2019 and 2023, where she inspires her peers and mentors the next generation of designers. Born in Puglia, Southern Italy, Marianna's aesthetic sensibilities were nurtured by the rural beauty, rich culture, folk music, art, and architecture of her homeland. This early exposure fueled her passion for design, leading her to pursue a degree in interior design at the esteemed Polytechnic University of Milan. Upon graduating in 2007, she honed her skills under the mentorship of the legendary Italian interior designer and architect Marco Piva. Under his guidance, she developed a balanced approach to design that marries rationality with creative freedom. Driven by Piva's encouragement to think big, Marianna relocated to Dubai in 2009, where she worked as a design consultant for high-profile companies such as RW Armstrong, Sinergo S.P.A, and Al Tayer Group. In 2014, she founded her own studio, MyPickOne, quickly establishing herself as a notable entrepreneur in the UAE's luxury interior design industry. As the Principal Designer of MyPickOne studio, Marianna leads a team of talented creatives with 15 years of enviable experience in luxury design. Her signature residential and commercial projects in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Puglia, and Paris stand as a testament to her exceptional skill and visionary approach. Her successful collaborations with Italian masters like celebrated architect Piero Lissoni and skilled artisans such as Domenico Piccolo elevate her work to unparalleled heights. Beyond interior design, Marianna's twin passions for photography and fashion enhance her natural eye for composition, color palettes, fabrics, and textures. These interests complement her design work, giving her a distinctive edge in creating luxurious, harmonious spaces. Marianna Piccolo's journey from the picturesque landscapes of Puglia to the dynamic, cosmopolitan environment of Dubai exemplifies her commitment to excellence and innovation in interior design. Her work continues to inspire and influence, setting new standards in the industry.

I walked into at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi as a guest.
I left with twenty photographs and three pages of notes.
Most people experience this room as beautiful, layered, and bold.
I experience it as a series of decisions — each one invisible until you know what to look for.

Fifteen pendants at different heights. Two floor materials meeting at a single line. A chinoiserie screen beside glazed brick. One curve in a room of right angles.

None of it is accidental. All of it is intentional. And the intention is what separates a well-designed space from one that merely looks good in photographs.

Swipe to read the room the way a designer does. →

↓ Save this before your next project. And tell me — which detail did you notice first?

The kind of art you can live with.

A glimpse into ’s world, where interiors, furniture and emotion come together through design.

The Collection is not just about furniture pieces, but about presence, atmosphere and the way a space makes you feel.

is not just a fair.
It is a reflection of the city itself: layered, global, bold, and constantly evolving.
A few moments that reminded me how powerful the dialogue between art, culture and space can be.

After a few inspiring days in Milan, I’m leaving once again with my eyes full of beauty, ideas and details to process.

Milan Design Week is always one of those moments that reminds me why design is never just about objects, but about atmosphere, emotion, materiality and the way spaces make us feel.

This year, one of my favourite highlights was Loro Piana’s Studies, Chapter I: On the Plaid — a beautiful reflection on textile, craftsmanship and quiet luxury. A reminder that even the simplest object can become a study of heritage, technique and timeless elegance.

More impressions from coming in the next few days.
For now, a first glimpse of what inspired me most.

Every year, coming back to Milan for Salone feels just as special. It remains one of my favourite moments of the year — a time to discover, reconnect, and be inspired by the creativity, beauty, and energy that make this week so unique.

After 26 years of attending, it still feels like a constant source of inspiration — one that continues to shape the way I see design, spaces, and the stories they tell.

After months of decisions, drawings, site visits, and refinements, there’s a quiet moment every designer knows well.

In luxury renovations, the goal is never just a beautiful space.
It’s creating a home that feels aligned with how someone lives, rests, and hosts.

2025 was about listening first.
To people, to places, to what each space needed to become.

It was a year shaped not only by projects, but by the people behind them, family, friends, clients, and collaborators, whose trust, support, and presence gave meaning to every step of the process.

From initial sketches to finished homes, every project carried its own rhythm, story, and purpose.
Grateful for a year where life and work intertwined naturally, grounded in relationships and guided by meaningful design.

Looking ahead with curiosity and gratitude.
