I recently posted this amazing piece of history! This photo of the 62nd field artillery battalion at fort Bliss Texas was taken just 6 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. I can only imagine what these young men were thinking. Based on my research they went on to receive recognition for their involvement on D-day at Omaha Beach. Thank you to all the men and women that serve our Country, past and present 🇺🇸

While posting these fun vintage travel pennants today I fell down a research rabbit hole. Being from the PNW I noticed some interesting features on the Seattle pennant.

Fun fact- The Seattle pennant features a graphic of the “king county domed stadium” more commonly known as the Kingdome which was demolished in 2000. Also has the airport labeled as “Henry M Jackson Int,L. Airport”. Most know the airport as SeaTac. The airport’s name was briefly changed to Henry M Jackson international airport (in 1983) but the name only lasted for 6 months before being changed back
