Moidules Moidules – 3D printable shelving system modules

Any size, any colour, anytime, anywhere. Custom make your own shelving system at home!

Modules is designed and created by a Finnish designer currently freelancing and finishing her masters degree in South-Korea. Inspired by her personal needs to design a flexible shelving system to a tiny apartment in Seoul she created "moidules". ('Moi!' means 'Hello!' in Finnish.) She just loved the result and therefore decided to share her moidules with the world. Any size, any colour, any where,

anytime... You can basically custom make your shelving system to fit any space or need. All you need is a 3D-printer and access to a saw or a laser cutter. For those, who have no access to 3D-printer, modules are available for a very affordable price at: http://www.shapeways.com/shops/moidules

First set of moidules is designed to be used with 9mm board (MDF, plywood...). For request creator can upload moidules that would fit materials of other thickness. :)

Ikea has come up with the very same shelving system concept ideas that we had when designing moidules last winter. Even the visuals they pursued is also very similar.

Anyways, the concept is great so big companies would eventually 'come up' with it, right?

Allowing people to create flexible shelving systems to fit their existing appliances, spaces and needs, that's the key idea of moidules. :)

Inspired by the charming design of "Moidules", I create another ones for assembling the hex shelf. It just meets my personal needs to store up my more and more 3d printing things. Hope you can make your own and enjoy it.

Moidules could make quite a neat shelving unit also with acrylic or glass board!
