We love a project that’s a bit different, especially when we can donate our skills locally.

Recently our workshop team made some stage props for Glusburn Youth Theatre's production of Puss in Boots.

Pictured here is Georgie Jordan, playing Heath, the Miller’s Son, with the roll-on TV screen and oversize catapult.

It’s brilliant seeing our skills contribute to something creative. Congratulations to all on a great show - it was a pleasure to help play a small part behind the scenes.

We’re absolutely delighted to be the main kit sponsor of Keighley Albion Under 14s for the 2026 season!

What a year the lads had in 2025 – League Title, Yorkshire Cup and Bradford Cup winners 🏆🏆🏆 A proper treble-winning season.

They’ve already kicked off 2026 in style with an 86–0 away win in Blackpool in the BARLA National Cup 💪

Even better, several players have secured scholarships with professional clubs across Yorkshire and Lancashire – a fantastic achievement for the team and for Keighley.

Elf & Safety Nightmare Before Christmas!

When our workshop manager, Mark Clarkson checked, he noticed our CCTV had captured some suspicious activity over the weekend; small figures, red hats, high energy levels. Elves? Possibly.

Unfortunately:
No induction
No signed RAMS
No PPE
Very festive but extremely non-compliant

We admire the commitment after Friday’s Christmas party, but H&S comes before holiday magic!
It goes without saying that we do not condone skate-boarding pieces, even if it is breaktime!
And it is not 'bring your magical snowman to work day' until the 17th, so obviously that was unauthorised.

If they’re back next weekend, we’ll get them signed up to the ISO procedures. Until then, we’re keeping the mince pies locked away.

On International Men’s Day, we’re choosing to highlight the positive impact our people make in their communities.

Across the business, our colleagues are deeply involved in grassroots sport, from coaching women’s teams and youth football squads to supporting junior rugby. We’re proud to back a range of local clubs through volunteering, coaching and sponsorship, helping create opportunities for girls, boys and women to develop skills, confidence and community.

These efforts reflect the values we bring to our work every day: teamwork, commitment and supporting others to succeed.

Thank you to everyone who gives their time and energy to make a difference.

We had a fantastic day, last week, at South Craven School's Careers Showcase.

It’s only our second year taking part, and it’s great to see how much interest there is in what we do. We’re hoping to build on the success of last year, having already had students join us for work experience who are now exploring apprenticeships.

Our Business Manager, Alex Campbell, summed it up perfectly:

“Spending the day at South Craven School to attend the careers fair was a fantastic opportunity that offered real value for both our business and the students. It allowed us to connect with bright, motivated young people, share insights into our industry, and inspire the next generation of talent.”

We’re proud to support local schools and help shape future careers in joinery and construction!

For Mental Health Awareness Week back in May, we asked our staff members to nominate colleagues who had positively supported their mental wellbeing.

To thank those nominated, J Carey Design offered them a choice between a gift voucher or a donation to a charity of their choice. One of the selected charities was Sensory World Play Centre, a local space designed to support children and adults across the autistic spectrum.

Last week, we visited Sensory World Special Needs Centre and Cafe Dewsbury to drop off a donation of arts and crafts supplies for their weekly Thursday craft session, which runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm. The sessions are organised and run by the amazing Jayne Tillotson, a dedicated volunteer.

Linda Holmes, the centre’s founder, has created a space that combines state-of-the-art lighting and sensory equipment with simple, hands-on toys to support development, relaxation and connection in a uniquely welcoming environment.

They're currently looking for new volunteers to support a wide range of activities, from running gaming clubs to helping out with DIY. If you’re local and can lend a hand, please get in touch with the centre directly, they’d love to hear from you.

We are very proud to show off a recently completed project. This installation of amenity spaces included a structurally complex concierge cafe counter, 6 sets of feature WC's and two floors of circulation spaces. Beautiful material selections, stunning colour pallette and a striking combination of finishes and features. We love it!
