Had a good day for Zach Smith Woodworks. I scored a great Jet 15" planer. It's nice, this year I've been blessed with being gifted so many quality tools. It's been great, I first got a direct drive variable speed Delta lathe, too which my son welded me a great stand for it. Then a free Delta Unisaw, which is a great cabinet saw. I bought a 6" joiner that was made in the 40's and is all cast iron.

I don't know if all who follow me know this, but in 2012 I was sidelined and put on full disability. It sucked, but I did everything that I could to make the best of my time. Like pay attention to what I could and couldn't control.
Two years ago, I started a part time job at Big Y, I worked in the deli. I loved it, the people, the company, it's a great place. But I recently ran into more health problems and the doctor said that I got to take it easy.
I got a part time job at Woodcraft of Walpole as a everything person, today I got to make a plaque.

So I took some pictures of some of my other work. Everything I make is usually inspired by my bride, and therefore end up becoming hers!
So the mirror was made from a tree that was on the property that was spaulted maple. After I had it felled, we noticed that it was spaulted and I had sent to the mill and had it boarded up. When the boards were dry, I milled them up and made this mirror.
Below that is the armoire and the bed made from sappelle and maple. Sappelle is very similar to mahogany.
There is a coffee table that I made from a piece of oversized pine. It was very old and left in my barn. About 6 feet by 30" wide. So those are natural edges just sanded up and made nice and smooth.
So; kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom. One of the kids had a loft bed that I made. Now they have regular beds.
Plus tons of my turnings are around the house, plus epoxy projects.

At each one of my houses I've tried to make more and more furniture, for myself. I refuse to pay the outrageous prices for quality furniture, or short money for cheap s**t. Here are some of the things I've made; most recently a dining room table. Before that I made a custom cherry counter for our kitchen renovation. Other projects not accessible by phone includes my bedroom set that I made for my wife includes an armoire with 15 draws, and a matching head and footboard both made primarily of mahogany and has maple accents.

I made my wife a new dining room table for Christmas! Don't tell her though, it's a surprise!
