An old water heater burst filling this little house with three inches of water. A home owner's worst nightmare. This couple initially hired a national franchise water damage specialist. A big company, a name they recognized and specializing in the damage they had suffered seemed like the smart choice. They soon found out it wasn't and fired them on day one! They realized they wanted to hire a company who actually DID the work, not a company who hired a company to do the work. They wanted to hire an experienced craftsman who did the work himself and would make it a priority to put their home and lives back together. After sifting through several local craftsman, they found and chose Eric Leffingwell Woodwork.
Working with a small budget from the insurance company, only enough to return the house to its pre-damaged, dated, mid- '80's condition, I was able to repair, renovate and update for not a penny more. Using my network of suppliers and my thrifty nature, I was able to offer them a number of choices for all new materials (hardwoods, tile, VCT, cabinets and counter tops) that were of a significantly higher quality (usually much more expensive) than what the insurance co. had budgeted. Pleased with what they had to choose from, they made their selections on everything from wall paint to flooring. Now it was time for me to execute their vision of their new house. The photos in this album show the transformation from the first day I saw the place, to the day I handed them their keys back.
