Installation day of the latest project went quite well. We had a few holes to cut for electric outlets and coax routing on the inside of the cabinets. One small hiccup, I misplaced the shelf pins and had to order more. Otherwise the customer was quite happy with the unit and the installation!

Its been a while since we had a proper project update so here goes! Currently I'm working on a 15 foot long installation with 5 lower cabinets and 2 upper book cases. Long story short all 7 cabinet carcasses are assembled with their face frames attached; all 6 doors fully assembled, all 6 drawer faces 75% completed and the drawer boxes are ready for glue up! I should be ready to begin priming everything early next week.

Today marks completion of my biggest project to date. 12 bookcases, a live edge storage bench, and remote on/off lighting for the 11 vertical bookcases. Coming in at 34 sheets of plywood, 200 board feet of 3/4" thick hard maple, plus the 2 inch thick live edge slab this project was the result of 3 months of nights and weekends (mostly enjoyable) work. Some lessons learned along the way, mainly to do with design choices and building into a non square room. The customer and I are both quite pleased with the final product.

Phase 1 of the library build is coming along nicely!Next weekend I will add some maple trim, then we are on to phase 2.
