Oh, biscuits...
Not the kind you eat, the kind that hold everything together!
These custom casings are headed into the same home as that fireplace mantel we shared a couple weeks ago, and just like that piece... nothing about this is “off the shelf.” Every board was hand-selected, cleaned up, and carefully worked to bring out the natural character of the wood.
And here’s the part that always surprises people. When the clients asked what stain was used on the mantel, Eric’s answer was simple:
“It's natural.”
That rich, warm tone? That’s all wood. Just time, patience, and a whole lot of TLC to let it speak for itself.
These XL casings are built for open-concept doorways, which means they have to look just as good from every angle—and hold up for years to come. That’s where the biscuits come in (yes, actual woodworking biscuits), helping align and strengthen each joint so everything comes together clean, tight, and built to last.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about making something look good, it’s about making sure it still looks good 20 years from now.
