hey y’all, long time no post! 👩🏼‍🌾🌿🏠 been working hard the last few months and have definitely let Instagram posts get behind. will be catching up a little bit this week… stay tuned! in the meantime, take a look at this fun weeding job i completed yesterday. this walkway had some unwanted vegetation that was overgrown and taking over the groundcovers that were planted here! i removed grasses, spurge, some tall clover, and various other weeds to make room for the herbs and other flowering perennials intended for the space. one great thing about weeding after rain, is that the roots come out so nicely 🙏🏼🙌🏼

the start of filling the raised garden beds from yesterday’s post! we are using what’s called the “lasagna garden” method which uses compostable layers to make a rich, fertile garden bed without tilling (or much digging) of the soil underneath. this method is a great way to put your compost, brush piles, organic food scraps, leftover mulch, etc to good use! it helps increase drainage, and is also very fun to build 🏠👩🏼‍🌾🌿 if you’re thinking of installing something similar, or refreshing your pre-existing beds, i’d love to help ya!

been so busy lately and so grateful for it! 🤗🌿👩🏼‍🌾 scroll to go back in time and see the progress of this raised bed project! with half of the beds in the ground and level, we have started to fill them and dig out the remaining two sites for the last two beds. we still have some time until the last frost passes, so hold off on buying annuals! unless you are prepared to cover them or bring them in, they likely will not make it through the cold. 🥶❄️ that being said, it is a great time to plan and prepare your gardens for warmer weather! if you need some help with your projects, let’s chat 🤗🪴🌻🍓🥕🍅

very! excited! 🥳🎉 a new project up in Fairfax is starting to take shape. my client wants raised beds installed on quite the sloped hill. can you see the vision? 🤩☀️🌿 once the first one gets installed, three more will follow, and this space will be absolutely magical! every kitchen garden will be jealous of this one 😉
