Edge banding is a must when working with plywood for furniture! ESPECIALLY when you sand a little too much when refinishing furniture. 😬🤦🏻‍♂️

Come on, we all do it!

Some might call me a wood scrap hoarder. I prefer to say that I like to plan ahead. My dad always said, “you never know when you might need that”. I guess I live life with that as my motto. I have this same problem with any and all hardware that may come as extras or left overs from something I ordered or disassembled.

Do I need counseling? Maybe. But I bet if you need an extra spare part, perfect piece of lumber, or the right size screw or nail, I’ve got it in my shop!

Do any of you all have the same sickness?

Who can relate?

I’m restoring this rocking chair for my sister-in-law. I forgot to take before pictures, but this thing was in pieces not long ago. If you’ve ever taken apart and reassembled a rocking chair like this, it’s kind of like wrestling an octopus. (no video of that so I can still hold my head high)
The plan is to paint these spindles, mainly because I didn’t feel like sanding them thoroughly enough. After the paint dries, I’ll be applying Half & Half. Great product! More of that to come.

Anyway, I digress. I’m not a very good painter.

Some things in the shop bring a little more satisfaction.

For anyone who questions 🤔 the strength of a glue up, this post is for you.

I glued up 2 long pieces of white oak. After I cut it to size, this piece dropped and the wood broke, but if you’ll notice, the glue joint is still very much intact.
