Taking a small outbuilding from a cold, mildew covered shed to a warm feeling and sounding room for recording music.
Scope of work:
-Remove all interior, built in shelving and furniture.
- Create an interior 2x4 frame over the existing walls to create a 10” deep square skeleton to mount tongue and groove paneling, as well as create an air and insulation gap to reduce noise traveling outside the building and unwanted noise from entering during recording.
-Re-Case and trim the new 10” window wells.
-Add an interior nitch/faux window that will be converted into a window to the neighboring building during a future phase of studio construction.
-Create easily removable, insulated, window inserts to help soundproof the windows during recording.
-Create a new worktop from the customer provided large fir 2x12 stock.
-Move electrical outlets to a single plane
-Flash exterior doors to fix water ingress
-Replace dangerous, burnt, improperly installed wiring to exterior lighting.
-Trim studio floor to ceiling with the same tight knot pine.
