My husband never applied to work at Sage.
I started a "small business" and somehow he inherited every job description that came with it.
Over the years he's been a mover, installer, truck driver, warehouse manager, furniture wrangler, candle stacker, forklift trainer, sounding board, visionary, chief problem solver, and the person we call whenever something goes sideways. He's helped shape the vision for where Sage is going while never being above doing whatever needs to be done to get us there. The title says Managing Director, but anyone in a family business knows that really means "whatever needs doing."
But the most important role he's ever had is Dad.
Scroll through to spot my favorite photo from when we first arrived in America with two little boys and a dream. Today those boys are teenagers, and Sage has grown up right alongside our family. One minute they're helping plant trees in a new country, and the next they're driving forklifts and helping build the business that grew up with them.
We'll be closing our Gallery today so we can celebrate the man who has been at the center of it all.
Happy Father's Day, Nigel. We love you, and we're grateful for every job you've taken on, especially the one you chose. ❤️
To all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, father figures, and families who show up every day with love, patience, strength, and sacrifice, we celebrate you, too.
Happy Father's Day from all of us at Sage 🤍
