Bent wood wedding ring made with bur oak and sterling silver inlay. The client (and groom) supplied a bur oak log from an ecological restoration project he was a part of, and I milled that into a thin strip that was bent to form the ring. Feeling grateful to play a small part in using material from the venerable Bur Oak and craft it into a symbol of unity

Shaker inspired platform bed for my 7 year old ❤️

Frame is made with solid cherry and the slats are poplar. Each leg has a subtle taper on two sides and the rails are connected with knockdown hardware for easy moving. Send me a note if you're interested in a custom piece for your home!

I really like this point in a project. I've cut and tested all the joinery and I've finished the bulk of planing, scraping and/or sanding. It's time to add subtle details and knock down any sharp corners. There are lots of ways to do this, but it's hard to beat the sound and feel of a block plane with a sharp iron.

It feels irrelevant to post about woodworking with everything happening in MN. Having said that, it's also a big part of my life and something that I retreat to in challenging times. Despite the intimidation, fear, oppression and violence perpetrated by 🧊, there have been so many courageous individuals and organizations standing up for what is right. It's nothing short of inspiring and I'm so glad to call MN home. In a small attempt to help support those fighting the good fight, I'm going to run a small ig story sale of a few things I've made (including the pictured floating shelf). 100% of the sale for each item will be donated to the organization named in the story/photo.
