Hey Everyone: Desert Academy has several openings, both part-time and full-time. Interested in Science, Math, Language Arts, Spanish, PE, Athletic Director, high school and middle school. Join an amazing school with the best curriculum, the International Baccalaureate! Since we are small we can cobble together full-time with sections combinations of subjects, or offer part-time to those who are retired and wanting to engage with amazing students. Spread the word! You don't need a teaching license as we are an independent school, teaching experience preferred. Did you know RPCVs in New Mexico have a long history of service within our communities?

On April 13th, a group of RPCVs helped Tenderlove CommunityCenter move into their new space! The group assembled furniture, sorted and stocked fabric, and did a LOT of painting. Thanks to all who helped out, and we look forward to bringing another community service opportunity to you all soon!

Desert Academy (www.desertacademy.org) is seeking teachers for 2019-2020 school year. Desert Academy is an International Baccalaureate independent school in Santa Fe. Teachers do not need to be licensed. We have two RPCVs on staff.

Current openings:

French and/or Spanish: Part-time Spanish, part-time French, or full-time for a teacher with Spanish and French. Potential combinations with a foreign language and other subjects- math, art, PE, English, etc.

Math/Physics: Middle School/High School Math and /or Physics: Middle Years Program. Full-time may include a combination of physics and math, or other subjects based on experience. Interested candidates with experience in math and/or physics should apply or send inquiries.

Art: High school art in the Middle Years Program, part-time. Potential full-time based on other areas of teaching experience (key subjects in need Spanish, Math, Physics, Physical Health Education).

Physical Health Education: PHE in the Middle Year Program, middle school and high school. Part-time or full-time based on other areas of teaching experience. Potential for Assistant Athletic Director, front desk duties, or other areas of support for full-time.
