With the standard M.O. around here being 'made-to-order,' it is really rare for me to have anything 'in stock!' I built this dining table to display at Common Ground this past fall and thought seriously about keeping it. I made one very similar for my wife when we were first married and we really miss its big bold attitude. The nice thing about that first table was that it really took a beating and always looked like a million bucks. [ 118 more words ]

The simple turned legs and gorgeous dark walnut make this taper-leg table look like a million bucks. The clients wanted to see lots of wood grain, but they also wanted the table to feel airy and light. They had very specific dimensions based on the dining area of their modern riverside home. We started out with a few sketches and then refined them based on the rough ideas. [ 122 more words ]

With the price of white oak bordering on ludicrous and added to that patchy availability, clients have been asking about a good alternative. WHITE ASH. Used Au Naturale it is two or three shades lighter than white oak. On the density scale, Ash is only a few points behind White Oak. In other words, it is very dense and it wears well. The new Arbor Lounge - Same slender profile, more punch The latest update to the Arbor Lounge was a long time in the making. There are a few subtle changes to the structure, but similar to the Arbor Sofa, real care went into the design of the upholstery. I wanted the backrest and seat cushions to follow the form of the chair and not seem awkwardly flat and stuck-on. [ 72 more words. ]

The laundry room in our new house was not going to cut it. We moved into our Maine home planning on doing a little work. Instead of starting with the kitchen which was at the top of our list, it became apparent that we were going to need a bathroom on the main floor before we lost our minds! ARBOR SOFA, Say Hello Big brother to the Arbor Lounge Chair, I wanted the Arbor Sofa to have the same slender, low profile. I worked hard to keep some of the same details, only adding a few necessary additions for structure. The upholstery design was worked out in countless iterations on paper and, with some input from a very talented upholsterer, this tapered, contoured, classic tucked leather emerged.
