August is hot, humid and just plain miserable. So, let's spice things up a bit and get some lumber cleared out because once the weather cools down, the sawmill is going to be in full swing and I'm going to need space for all that beautiful new lumber. So, I'm going to make it simple. Light colored woods will be $9 a board foot and dark woods will be $12 a board foot. This is more than a 25% discount. Desert Ironwood, while dark is one of the outliers and it is normally $60 a board foot. For this sale, we're lowering it to $35. The vast majority of the wood is also double planed on both sides to flat and ready for you to cut and sand for whatever project you are working on!

The dark woods are Mesquite and Eucalyptus. We have a HUGE selection of 8/4 (2") Mesquite in lengths from 3 feet to 9 feet and Eucalyptus in assorted thicknesses and lengths. If you want something very rare, that's Desert Ironwood but when it's gone, it's gone.

The light woods are Aleppo Pine, Tamarisk aka Saltcedar and a large variety of Cottonwood.

Also available right now is a small bit of Aromatic Cedar boards and it is $5 a board foot. Perfect for closets and inside of clothing baskets and drawers.

If you're a wood turner, we also have a very large assortment of desert hardwood pen blanks and spindles and a limited selection of bowl blanks. Also some knife handle blanks for the anvil pounding crowd! Prices will be discounted as well.

Not just Slabs and boards but I put a lot of time into making turning blanks for the woodturners out there. From writing pens to large spindles, we have many various sizes available.

Right now, I want to help out all the new pen turners out there. I have made some turning blanks just for practice and beginners. White oak, cherry, mahogany and southern yellow pine. They range from only 25 to 50 cents. At these prices you can really experiment and practice new techniques, finished and styles.

Also in stock are pen blanks from ironwood, mesquite, 2 eucalyptus types, and some others that are local to this area. Even have a limited supply of olive and avocado.

2x2, 3x3, 4x4 and bowl blanks are also in the shop. Maybe time for a new hobby for people as well!

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind but we have made some really nice serving boards if I might toot my own horn. Ishmael has been learning a lot of new skills as well as learning how to use the bandsaw, drum sander and planer.

We also got to use our new HVLP sprayer for lacquer and other varnishes.

We still have cutting boards and serving boards available. This won't be just a Christmas item and we will make more and can also make custom sizes as well.

We're not just for woodworkers only. We also have pieces of wood that can work for your crafts of all kinds, even Christmas ornaments!

We cut cookies from 1" up to10" and priced from $1 to $15.
Species are Acacia, Eucalyptus, Saltcedar and Cottonwood. All are unsanded escept for the larger pieces which can be bought sanded or unsanded.

Photos of 2 of our mesquite cutting boards. These are 9" x 18" and 1.75" thick. One has a single stripe of eucalyptus added. We also use copper to fill in any imperfections in the wood to also add beauty to these pieces.

These 2 are $135 each. There are more awaiting the oil and wax finish and others being sanded and copper fills. There are smaller ones as well and other sizes can be made to order.

We've been extremely busy in the shop lately. We've been preparing for the Christmas rush by preparing lumber for cutting boards and some other items for sale. Filling orders and having product on hand.

If you're interested in a cutting board that will last a lifetime and made to use, let us know. We make them thicker than most you see online and can do custom sizes for you as needed also.

We have large sizes like 12" x 18" x 2" as a standard large and 9 x 18" as a narrower size and all different sizes down the line.

Some are live edge pieces which are unique and will stand out on your counter to all your friends. We also have boards made from lumber sourced right here in our very own Mohawk Valley and are beautiful and let you have a piece of our local hearts right in your home.

Species are mesquite, eucalyptus, saltcedar, white oak, maple, ash and hickory. Let us know what you're interested and we could have items ready in less than week. Some are ready now as well.

They have some of the most amazing figure I have seen.

Avg size amongs all 3 is 65 inches x 20 inches x 3/4"

They are all planed and just need sanding and any trimming to your imagination.
