While here in Minnesota, I took a look through our family photos to try to find the very first thing I ever made (mostly) by myself. I measured and nailed it together while my dad made the cuts with the chopsaw.

Behold, the scrap horse! πŸ˜† I couldn't find any full photos, but it was a mess of scrap 2x4s, plywood, and smaller pieces with some weird plastic rope that I frayed so it would look like a mane and tail. I made 2, one for me and one for my little sister. The plywood was sharp-edged and hard on our butts and they were sooo wobbly, but they lasted for several hours before they started falling apart from poor construction and we had so much silly fun playing on them! 🀣

A few years later I made a rustic birdhouse bench from 100-year-old fence wood that lasted another 20+ years, will share that next time. Building and creating has always been a passion, which definitely came from my parents who spent countless hours re-building and refinishing our 100-year old house to modernize it while keeping it's old world charm. We spent most of our childhood with something under construction, taped off, or walking on bare plywood floors while it was happening, and as crazy as it may sound, those are some of my fondest memories ❀️

Getting ready to head back home to visit family this Saturday, trying to wrap up as much as possible before then! This little bowfront has been the bane of my existence, but just about finished and ready to list. Can't wait to find this guy a new home so I can stop stressing about that glass!

You can never have too much storage. Got this modular metal stack of drawers but it was definitely used in a garage because there were a couple small oil spills and it reeks of it. Figuring a good wash with dish soap to get rid of the grease then spray with a disinfectant/deodorizer like Lysol and it will hopefully smell much better.

Eventually it'll be repainted a fun color but for now, storage is the most urgent need. Thinking a fun bright color like teal or coral, but I can live with white for now πŸ˜ƒ

Just picked up this absolutely gorgeous Walnut Eastlake style credenza and mirror, I cannot believe how good of shape it's in for being almost 150 years old! I said 200 in the video but it's looking like it was actually manufactured in the 1880's/early 1890's and was built in the midwest and sold to a gentleman in Ohio. Somehow over the last century it's made its way further to the east coast and is now sitting in my garage, about to get a glow up πŸ™‚ I've got so many pieces that are just about ready to be finished up and so many more pieces coming in, can't wait to show you more!

Found this beauty at a garage sale for FREE! It's in the queue to start soon, within the next few weeks. Probably going to be a paint/stain combo, but I'm contemplating trying glazing the first time as well. I think it would look gorgeous with those floral details. I think what I love most about it is it has a tasteful amount of details without being too ornate. I don't usually have the desire to keep pieces I've finished, but this one might be tough to give up!

Was gifted these 6 dining chairs by one of hubby's coworkers, they need some minor repairs but I'm thinking of painting them black and trying out a new weave on the seats rather than fabric. That would modernize them a bit but still show off all of the pretty details. What do you think?

These little babies are coming up soon! Just need to finish poly'ing the tops and they're finished. They're absolutely adorable at right around 24" tall, will hopefully make useful little side tables or even plant stands ❀️

If you can tone down the red with green-tinted poly, mahogany is the most beautiful brown 😍
