Finished and placed it where it will stay. Luggage bench with shoe rack. Made with reclaimed wood and local sawmill lumber from Greg Moore outside of Houston.

I insert a little bit of white oak in everything I build. Thats why I included a closeup of the leg. I also included my custom brand. Finished with natural Danish Oil and Polyurethane.

It’s not 100% completed and not in its final place yet. It’s been sanded to 220 grit, water popped, and sanded at 220 again. I have to apply the finish before it gets delivered, but it will be several days before I have time to start the finishing process. This is a luggage bench with a shoe rack underneath. It will go at the foot of the bed that I built. It’s 54”x18”x20”. Multiple species of wood. It has reclaimed pine and cedar from a pole barn that my grandfather built outside of Anguilla, MS. Legs are cypress (I think) from a cotton gin outside of Hollandale, MS on the Sunflower River. The bottom rail is poplar and the top rail is ambrosia maple that I got from Greg Moore outside of Houston, MS (sawmill). I can’t wait until the finish is done. I got to get a sneak peak of the final colors when I water popped it. Unreal how pretty it’s gonna be. I will take another picture when it’s completed.

This was my very first project. King size bed. Went from a trailer full of wood to a finished bed. I really enjoyed the process and decided to pursue the hobby further. I realized quickly that this was too big of a project to keep doing in my carport with no tools. That’s why I am doing small stuff now.

First spatula and spurdle that I made. This is persimmon. I enjoyed this simple design and learning the process from rough cut lumber to final, finished product.
