Our Story

Storm King Consultants was founded in about 1990 by Frank Ostrander as an outlet for his creative energies. As an Engineer at Bogen Communications, Renkus-Heinz, JBL Professional and Techno Mind Ltd., Frank also found time to develop a wide range of side projects. He was a co-designer, along with Buck Brundage and Dick Dussinger of the ART Powerplant guitar preamplifier. He wrote Filter Workshop and Active Filter Workshop, two filter-design programs written in Visual Basic for Windows that helped loudspeaker designers understand and develop crossover networks. After his tenure at Techno Mind and over a period of about ten years, Frank designed and built prototype electronic talking toys for a number of toy inventors.

In 2009, Frank collaborated with a musician friend and designed and built a unique line-array speaker system that functioned both as a front-of-house loudspeaker and a stage monitor. (See Venue Master, below). Working with a local furniture designer, Frank continued to design variants using the line-array technology he developed.

In 2014, Frank partnered with Mediatech, Inc., later American Technical Furniture, and developed the GO Audio line of speakers. This partnership ended in November, 2018.

Our Products: The GO Audio SA-12 Introduced in 2015. A slim-profile 12-driver line array speaker for churches, auditoriums and other large spaces that require intelligible sound. This product is no-longer available at this time.
