We’re so incredibly proud of this dining table that we just delivered to some very happy clients.

It came out every bit as gorgeous as it is heavy.

The Village Makery will bring his elegant fall line of jet black wooden housewares made entirely from reclaimed wood and materials. Including serving trays, trivets, vases, candle holders and more.

The blackening process involves fire, similar to the Japanese shou sugi ban technique, but modified. The result is an elegant, buttery smooth, and extra-durable finish that goes with every decor.

I accidentally left this collection out in the rain overnight, but I wasn’t even worried…

Quick wipe with a towel and they’re good as new. The process that inspired this line has been making wood weatherproof in Japan for centuries.

If these can handle the elements, they can handle your dinner table.

I just put the finishing touches on these four frames. This style of frame is challenging, but SO cool, and it makes paintings look great.

I’ve just finished 4 of the 6 planned prototypes for my fall line, tentatively titled Reclaim Midnight.

All pieces are made of reclaimed cedar. The jet black finish comes from my own evolution on Shou Sugi Ban, an ancient Japanese technique wherein wood is burned til black and sealed to make it weatherproof.

My own process adds a few steps. Each piece of hand buffed with microfiber to imbed the rich black carbon into the surface, and then carefully lacquered to create a buttery smooth, durable, heat resistant finish.
