What a year 2023 was! I started my small business and met the goals I set out for myself. Reflecting back on the year, I am proud of what I’ve accomplished. I didn’t set out for this adventure to replace or even supplement my current income, but to fund a hobby I enjoy doing. I am a software engineer for my day job, so sitting at my desk all day makes me want to do things with my hands and do some creative hard work. This year I think I achieved that. I outfitted my shop with new equipment, sold dozens of cheese slicers many cutting boards, often with custom engravings for wedding gifts, many whiskey smokers and quite a few commission pieces. God has been gracious this year and it wasn’t always easy. There were many events I went to where sales were very low or nonexistent. But I persevered and now looking back on my sales numbers, it’s hard to believe how well things went this year considering how little time I have available to commit to this business. I am so thankful for everyone who shopped with me this year. Here’s to 2024. Time to set new goals!
