Good morning everyone!

It’s been a while since I posted. As most of you know, we had our first child in September of last year. I took a break from furniture for the last year during my pregnancy due to how hard it was on my body. We had a LOT of struggles and our son was unfortunately born premature as a result of it. Now that we are getting into a new normal and my health is improving, I have LOTS of plans for some pieces that have been calling my name the last few months!

Stay tuned in the next few weeks for some new beautiful items that you’re not gonna wanna miss!

What am I doing up at 4AM? Funny you should ask!

My dad came over this afternoon and helped put our crib together and hang the last of the nursery pictures. This may seem like any old vintage crib and dresser to you, but what you don’t know is it was actually mine.

When we first started trying to get pregnant, I knew I wanted to reuse some of the sentimental things from my childhood that meant a lot to both me and my parents. My dad was SO excited to be able to pull down this furniture that had been sitting, well wrapped and protected, in the attic for 25 years. He cleaned and sanded everything for us, made sure we had all the hardware and then let me take it to paint (which is a HUGE deal to someone with old sentimental furniture, I’m sure you all know!)

I painted the dresser and found some super cute milky k***s at my favorite place, Hobby Lobby, and chose a neutral gray by BehrPaint. I had the lovely Emily from Mercer Lane paint our crib for us; She did SUCH an amazing job and took such good care of this piece for us while she had it.

I am so so happy with how our space has turned out. I wanted everything to be neutral and calming and I feel like we achieved just that. Our little ones nursery is FULL of sentimental touches that I love sharing with you guys. I can’t wait to fill it with love and tears and memories too.

Have a great week, everyone. Stay blessed! 🤍🖤

In early July we lost my mother-in-law to a battle with lung disease and other complications that she had been fighting for almost as long as I can remember. My husband and I met when we were just 15 and it was not long after that she started to get sick. It has been a difficult time for us, being that I am carrying what would have been her first grandchild. My husband and his sister handled the entire ordeal so well and it brought us all a lot closer as a family- the bittersweet in it all. Unfortunately no matter how much you prepare for it, you’re never quite ready to say goodbye to someone you love.

My sister-in-law brought some goodies over for us yesterday and as my husband opened some of what was in the bag with me, he pulled out this ceramic bear. “Do you remember that?” she asked him. I learned that the bear was made by my husbands Memaw, who we lost several years ago, in 1987 (long before we were born). She had it in her children’s rooms and then gifted it to his mom who had it in my husband and his sisters room growing up. It had been in her bedroom since that time and our sister gifted it to us to put in OUR child’s bedroom. I am so honored to have it and am already so attached to it and it’s place in our little ones space. It apparently has been broken and glued many times but has managed to survive for now four generations of nurseries and children.

Happy Sunday, everyone. Stay blessed! 🤍🖤

I’ve been gone a while, and I’m not sure when I’ll be back and to be honest I’m not sorry about it. This pregnancy has been such a journey for my husband and I and I am soaking up every bit of it, both good and bad. I have learned so much about my mind, body and strength as a woman and as a partner over these last 7 months. I am so thankful to have been able to experience pregnancy as I know not everyone can.

I am still finishing up on some small projects and one final custom commission. After that, I don’t plan on doing any furniture until after the baby is here. My main focus has been getting the nursery together and staying healthy.

I hope everyone has had an amazing week. Please know I am cheering everyone on from afar, even if you don’t hear from us as often. 🤍🖤

The same but different...

I dropped off this cute pair of matching but not matching claw foot pedestal end tables at Re-Invintage Home last night and I am loving how they compliment each other. Painted in Fusion Mineral Paint Raw Silk and sealed with their gloss top coat (it’s amazing, if you haven’t tried it!)

Good morning and happy Monday!

I’ll have some new pieces to show y’all in the next week and I’m super excited! In the mean time, I wanted to share some art from a new friend I had the pleasure of making over the weekend. Emily with Mercer Lane does such amazing work and I have watched her grow and get so good over the last 6-8 months.. it blows my mind how talented she is! Definitley go give her a follow.. you won’t be disappointed! I learned that she is from the same area of upstate NY as me, and now we live in the same area of TN. We chatted for a while and she’s such a sweet soul. I LOVE finding new friends in this community.. I have come across so many mean people who view others as nothing but competition. It’s so refreshing to be able to share inspiration without having a knife at your throat.

I hope everyone has an AMAZING week! 🤍

Hey y’all.. remember me?

It’s been several months since I’ve been on social media or even touched a piece of furniture. Right before the virus pandemic hit, we found out that our efforts and dream of starting a family came true! I unfortunately spent most of my first trimester hospitalized due to EXTREME sickness and I’m still not 100% back to normal yet but I am, however, getting back to furniture! I have been so itchy to open some paint and today is the perfect day to start again.

In the mean time, I just marked these two beauties down as the last of my inventory so I can get some new stuff up to Re-Invintage Home! Have you guys been up to their new space yet? It is SO beautiful!

Hello Friday!

I’ve been finishing up on this new line my dad from A&E Woodland Designs and I are creating. What do y’all think?!

It’s gonna be a long weekend for us! The dog is going to get de-shedded Saturday (before I give in and shave him) and I’m going to go picking while my husband works Saturday. What are your plans?
