Nestled high in the Allegheny range lies an old mountain town, fresh with river water, grazing wildlife, and scenic mountain sides. Hidden in the peaks and valleys of Johnstown, PA resides some of the top businesses in the world, developing cutting-edge technology... whether we’re legally allowed to see it or not. From mobile applications harnessing GPS capabilities to Drone and robotic technology
, the Johnstown Outdoor Tech Show (JOTS - JohnstownOutdoors.com) will be showcasing some of today’s coolest technology.
“We needed a way to marry the outdoors and technology, blowing the roof off, and giving companies a chance to show Western Pennsylvania and beyond what we’ve been doing in our “backyard.”” says Travis Lodolinski, founder of the JOTS. “It blows my mind when I talk to my friends at Compass Systems, JWF, and Problem Solutions, to hear some of the things they’ve been doing. They have pioneered some of today’s top technology that’s used everyday. That’s not by mistake.”
During the one-day event at Sandyvale Memorial Gardens, companies will gather, showcasing today’s top technologies in the 250 ft designated area with drones, robotics, armored vehicles, and mobile sensors and much more (only 11 showcase time slots available - 1 per hour - register online: first come, first serve; certain requirements apply). Booths with tech demos, and hands-on educational workshops for kids and adults. The 11-acre terrain encompasses all that Johnstown is capable of offering the outdoors scene, including on and off ramps to the waterways, entrance to the John Muir trail, and an upcoming healing garden.
“Imagine the awe on a child’s face as they see an industrial-sized drone flutter off into the sky. The child’s wonderment will then establish a connection to its environment. This is a large part in developing a future where people want to stay in the area starts at a young age,” says Lodolinski. For more information, go to JohnstownOutdoors.com
