The abandoned garden... we still have hopes and dreams about a veggie garden. We have learned a thing or two about our property over the years. Mainly - our fencing needs to be deer proof (gates included!) AND free-range chicken proof. And fencing is expensive.

The creeping charlie and other unpleasant w**ds have taken over in areas I once tried to clear for planting. The creeping charlie in particular rolls up like a mat. I would love wild strawberry to take over instead! 🍓

We have been doing monthly getaways - camping addition. So nice to not always be on the project grind. After five years of a fixer upper, time for a new pace.

We also are always looking for house sitters - who are willing to watch chickens/cats in trade for a free place to stay.

This winter, there will be the woodstove too that needs tending. Anyone want to come stay at our house the first weekend of November? We are headed to the ski cabin at Camden Hills State Park.

Still at the nail/ash pick up where our old burn pile used to be.

This whole barn foundation (was a barn floor) was a dumping ground. I guess in the late 90s the old stones were discovered and trash was shoveled out. So me trying to find every loose piece of rusty metal isn't entirely effective. But here I am scrapping off the first 6 inches of the area.

Future kid hang out spot in the works 👏🏻
