Horses and horse racing are woven into the very fabric of Saratoga. They are part of our history, our identity, and for many families, part of our blood.
Today, our hearts are heavy as we join our community in grieving the tragic fire that claimed the lives of 17 horses yesterday. These magnificent animals are more than competitors—they are cherished partners, companions, and an enduring symbol of the spirit that makes Saratoga so special.
We extend our deepest condolences to the owners, trainers, caretakers, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss. Saratoga stands together in sorrow, and we keep all those impacted in our thoughts during this difficult time.
