Who we’re fundraising for: Farmer Faheem Carter () shows the farm plot he’s built from scratch from a gravel lot above the Caltrain in Bayview. Faheem is a school garden educator by day, and gets up before 6AM to hand water and tend the garden beds 2x daily. Our fundraiser goes towards drip irrigation costs, which would greatly reduce labor and make expansion possible.
Faheem is the founding garden manager at , where he’s helped build the farm from scratch and grown veggies alongside Cantonese aunties and Latino neighbors for 6+ years. Faheem’s vision is to build a Black-led community farm in Bayview, stitching together marginal and unused land, that gives away food to the community and teaches young people how to grow their own food.
How to join: Send us a screenshot of Venmo -carter for zoom link. Suggested donation $50, no one turned away for lack of funds. 11:30am on Saturday Nov 7.

Can you tell? The meat and vegan recipes have been submitted to our host , so send in your donations to 's go fund me soon to get the ingredients list so you can get to shopping for the cook-along! Our Story
Start small
We started small. Christine bought food at farmers markets. She worked on a small dairy milking cows as a farm hand. George grew a food garden in his front yard and raised chickens. We worked with farmers, and we cooked with pasture raised meats directly from our farmer friends.
Yet we were worried about enormous problems like climate change, so we tried to help farmers be part of the solution. We started a company, PastureMap, building software to help ranchers adopt regenerative practices. We’ve worked with farmers and ranchers for nearly a decade. Our
Small meets big
We learned all of us - consumers and farmers - are up against a massive industrial food system.
This industrial system makes food that’s artificially cheap, and bad for our health, and destroys the planet. It also screws small farmers with low prices and huge debt.
Consumers and farmers want the same thing.
We want to be healthy.
We want to feed our kids good, nutritious food.
We want to heal the planet. We want healthy, vibrant communities - both urban and rural.
A new hope
Regenerative means beyond sustainable. We don’t want to “sustain” our current path - we want leave everything healthier, thriving, and full of life.
But don’t take our word for it. Our radically transparent maps show you exactly how your animals are raised.
Reversing the enormous industrial food system is going to take all of us. So we're starting by reconnecting farmers and consumers to fight for a better food system.
