Where did the clutter come back?
Because if the same five things repeatedly land in the same spot, that's telling you something.
Maybe their designated home is too far away.
Maybe you use them too frequently for a drawer.
Maybe putting them away requires extra steps.
Maybe the place you've assigned them makes sense aesthetically—but doesn't make sense behaviorally.
Maybe you haven't actually given them a practical home at all.
Recurring clutter is data.
Instead of simply organizing it again, pay attention to the pattern.
Don't organize the workspace you think you should have. Pay attention to the workspace you actually create while you're working.
