We loved seeing so many smiling faces at our first ever Social Rec Resource Fair!

With more than 150 attendees and over 50 vendors, we loved getting to share about the incredible program that Social Rec is. We hope everyone made some fantastic connections to get started with Social Rec services soon.

A big shout out to all of our staff who worked to put on this event, the many vendors sharing their exciting opportunities, and all of you who could stop by!

Meet San Diego People First!

SDPF is one of many People First groups across the nation that is run by and for people with developmental disabilities. This chapter formed in 1987, where members meet weekly to connect with one another, learn about local resources and organizations, and plan group events such as the annual San Diego People First Conference. The few members in this video, Issen, the San Diego People First President, Paul, and Alejandra work alongside many others to empower and advocate for the disability community. As the group continues to grow, we're excited to see what they accomplish!

June is Pride Month, and we're so happy to celebrate our LGBTQ+ community here in San Diego and Imperial Valley! 🏳️‍🌈
Many individuals in the disability community also identify as LGBTQ+. Navigating both communities while advocating for acceptance and accessibility takes strength and resilience.

Everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and included for who they are. This month, we celebrate the diversity and voices that make our communities stronger.

Happy Pride Month!

Our team and board members boogied for disability rights at DisCo at the Capitol: California Disability Community Advocacy Conference! 🎶 Each year in Sacramento, DisCo at the Capitol is held to inspire, educate, and empower people to advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities across California.
