Happy New Year! Stay safe and be well.

I was commissioned to screen in an existing patio and add a screen door. The client was very happy with the end result.

This build definitely had it's challenges, but nothing that i wasn't able to overcome. While it doesn't seem like it, it was very heavy to move around and finish once it was all assembled together.

I used Watco butcher block stain + oil as it was the only stain I could find that was food safe. I knew it was going to be a wax finish, and the home owner wanted a dark walnut look, once i acheived the darker stain look I followed up with a soaking in mineral oil, followed by a mineral oil & beeswax mixture. While it may look nice, the wax would still need to be applied as the board starts drying out as with any cutting board.

This beautiful antique desk was restored for my neighbor whose wife passed away from cancer. She was a teacher and had purchased this some time ago from a yard sale. He wanted it at her funeral and asked if I could restore it for him. I felt the need to leave alot of the character in place and tried to keep the original piece intact as much as possible. Under the two coats of paint, I found this gem waiting to be revealed.

This is a great little weekend project that can easily be done with some scrap wood. I chose to go with a better selection of wood for this and I wanted to try a different finish than what I normally opt for. This new finish was so easy to apply and the results speaks for itself.

I originally set out to make the folding mechanism entirely from wooden dowels, however, the result was a wobbly table. I was able to overcome this by simply opting to go with screws instead.

This is my 3rd iteration of making a workbench for a garage. There isn't any complicated joinery here, just some simple butt joints and pocket holes with 3" Torx screws used to hold everything together. Being that this is a workbench, I did anticipate the main table top being abused quite a bit, so I left the screws exposed for easy removal to replace the top when needed.

In regards to the main table top being doubled up to give it an overall thickness of 1 1/2", I decided not to go with a bottom for the table top and instead the drawer sides will get their support from the top itself. I also went with full drawer extensions to maximize the amount of usable space inside each drawer. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below. Thank you for watching.

I really like the vintage look of this coffee grinder. The dovetail joinery adds a touch of class along with the continuous wood grain pattern of walnut. The antique copper grinder mechanism compliments the wooden box perfectly. The slideout drawer is made from maple with the false front from walnut and walnut wooden drawer pull.

A dovetail keepsake box made from walnut with a natural finish. The inside has black flocking for a touch of added elegance. This also features brass hardware to compliment the walnut and give it a more refined look. If anyone is interested in owning one or have their own custom made one, please feel free to contact me.

This park bench restoration project was alot of work and fun to experience. This was my first time working with Ipe, so there was a learning curve on working with this wood species. This bench will last for years to come now.
