Thinking about the many years of building furniture and cabinets that I have under my belt and thinking about some of my favorite pieces. I think this table that I made for my wife, , for her birthday when she was pregnant with our first baby way back in 1988! Sized to fit a corner in our rented townhouse and built with pine, because we really were into the “country” style back then but also because it was cheap! This table, while not fancy, holds so many memories, we purposely chose not to artificially distress it, so every ding, every scratch bump and dent is a memory. From Zach pushing down too hard on the cowboy hat cookie cutter, to Bryce banging his fork impatiently for another bite of food to my dad helping us move and tripping while carrying the table and dropping it. Birthdays, thanksgivings, Christmas celebrations and just gathering around it for family meals! Now our grandkids love making it into a fort and eating lunch underneath it! Our style has evolved, our family has grown and this table has seen it all. Truly a treasured member of our family!
