Finished this a short while ago, building a partner now to make a pair. It is currently on display in the MWSU Potter Hall Art Gallery with a few other examples of my work. It is crazy to think that all the beauty of the birch wood came from sitting in my driveway for a year and allowing it to spalt. If you really like it, it will be on my Etsy page soon.

Newly completed, this was to be for my daughter until the concept for her room was changed. Now I am looking to find a home for a day bed, sized for a standard twin bed mattress. Made of oak and hickory this bed is strong and quite nice looking if my opinion counts.

Getting my hands on old wooden spars from a wrecked aircraft deserves a special touch. These spars came from a PT-22 Ryan that had a gravity issue, I understand that it dragged a wing tip and landed hard. They make up the center place of the table and the surrounding frame is Hackberry. This table is surprisingly lightweight but plenty strong. Some of the lumber you come across tells you it does not need to be cut up to be made beautiful. This board was as pretty as they come and cried to be displayed. A household requirement as utilitarian as a coat rack can also be a great way to display the beauty of wood grain in its natural state.

This small keepsake box is for my Grandfather. One of my inspirations for building and tinkering, and the excuse for my hoarding tendency. It is built from salvaged aircraft spars made of the straitest spruce to be found. With my grandfathers appreciation of aviation and carpentry this box is all him.

Finished a little box, these are simple and I teach my students how to build them but it is still a good way to show off the beauty of Spalted Hackberry.
