It has been approximately 5 years of blood, sweat and tears since Felicia Rae and I have embarked on the journey of transforming our quaint little mid-century bungalow to our suburban homestead.

While there are some things that still need to be done (with us, we are constantly tinkering to make this better), I think we have largely accomplished our backyard dream.

The first few pictures give you a sense of the possibilities as our yard was a blank canvas.

The last few pictures gives you a sense of what it is like now...the photos truly don't reflect the awesomeness of what we've done!

It will continue to evolve and improve but it was a helluva ride!

Stay tuned for our next really CRAZY project...coming very soon!

Wanted to get rid of the old, crappy, inadequate plastic bins that I used to store the chicken’s bedding, straw and feed.

Still have to build the lids but coming along nicely.

Outside of a few new sheets of plywood, I used reclaimed wood from other failed projects.

Used the sho sugi ban technique and linseed oil for durability and protection.

Doing it modular this time given time constraints and logistics but working out well thus far.

Hopefully I’ll get another one done next week.
