We (my wife leading the charge)have been wanting to change our bedroom furniture for a little while. The opportunity to acquire a pre-owned (used but not abused) set came up so we bought it in spite of the dark color. We did the “Alive Again” treatment
and now are enjoying the fruit of working in a garage during 90 degree weather with humidity to match to transform them.

This dresser from a respected furniture manufacturer was left in a garage when a previous homeowner left it for the new resident to dispose. It had been used and some areas had broken pieces of trim and marks all over. Now refinished and updated awaiting a continued life of service in someone’s home.

Ugly duckling no more. This piece was bound for the trash heap. Drawers would not close and lower rear left corner was broken.I was able to get it home where it sat for several weeks while we debated if we should even tackle it. After many hours of removing multiple layers of black paint we discovered it was all wood.

Today was a very busy day. These two little dressers had a few damaged areas that needed attention and the color wasn’t doing them any favors. The k***s (inexpensive wooden ones had been removed when we bought them). It took a full coat of primer and then two toned paint finish along with gold colored handles to kick them up in style.

Just finished a piece that was almost in the truck heading for the landfill when I spotted it and picked it up. It looked average and had a fish tank and a bunch of stuff piled on it. Feels good to give this aquarium stand a fresh lease of purpose. after repainted in good satin paint, new handles, and repairs.

Another Alive Again transformation now done. What looked like an easy project developed into a meat grinder. The shiny faux finish on the pieces rejected paint and even some primer. Slide parts for the drawer tracks had to be replaced, etc, etc. But we were able to turn that corner. Thank the Lord!
