Usually, we lead the design process for our customers. In a handful of cases, someone tweaks our own materials to create something surprising. When added our own French bistro finials to the top of a freestanding brass and glass shelf, it elevated it into something new that we hadn’t seen before. It popped. It prompted a midnight text thread of “look at this PHOTO!”

Why hadn’t we seen it before? We stare at these components day in and day out. Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe because we stare at them day in and day out.

But we love this dumbfounding experience so, so much.

The greatest part of this project (other than landing the rails and shelves perfectly around those wicker sconces…and the backsplash 😲, okay…and yes the pink cabinets ❤️‍🔥) is that I clearly remember every interaction with the team at . And even though we were in the midst of a weird panic inducing component shortage…they were just so patient, so kind and so pleasant to work with. We really do remember the kindness.

This shelf still lives in my dining room, surrounded by orphaned LEGO, crayons and the dining table where The Pile (you have one too) feeds and grows. But this one small section of wall remains an oasis of…sophistication and class in brass and glass.
