Hello, all! Don't put too much stress on your lawn! Dryness/heat, humidity, insects, w**d control, mowing practices and dull blades will all stress your lawn. Start thinking about raising your mower height (highest-second highest setting), and remember taller grass will isolate the soil, keeping it cooler and moister. Bi-weekly mowing is recommend as well as keeping lawn height of 3-4’ inches. With each mowing you should be cutting no more than approximately 1/3 of your grass height!! Don't forget to sharpen your blades!

When starting a garden there are 3 things to consider:

1. Garden size
- How many plants/types of plants
- How much time and effort do I have to spend

2. Soil Preparation
- Breaking up the ground
- Adding compost or natural fertilizer

3. W**d control/watering
- Consistently/availability

- Avoid: Chemicals, pesticides, herbicides
- Use: Straw, organic newspaper methods

You should expect ripe tomatoes in mid, to-late June! Happy gardening!

Hello everyone, looks like a warm weekend ahead! Because our winter moisture has been insufficient, my recommendation would be to give your choice outdoor plants a good deep soaking that supplies water to the root system before the ground freezes. Watering on warm days in dry winter months is always beneficial.

PS. Penumbral lunar eclipse, full moon, Comet 45P, are all in the northern sky Friday night after midnight!
