Refurbished this 1953 imported English piece for my Mom. It’s a very pale gray with General Finishes Seagull Gray and top coated with High Performance Topcoat in Flat.

I cleaned and painted the hardware in satin nickel. I am in love with the hardware!!! Hubby lined all of the drawers for me.

I am really happy with how it turned out. 🤗🤗🤗

This piece took me forever to finish. Major cleaning and stripping it, cleaning again, more sanding, 2 coats of Shellac, cleaning hardware, hand painting and 3 protective top coats. The hard work I put into a piece is all worth it when I see the finished product. I love this piece!

Cleaning Hardware: A very important step I take to complete the look of my refinished pieces. First, I boil the hardware in a mix of water and white vinegar and simmer (the mister calls this 'Hardware Stew'). It looks really nasty, but it works wonders in removing old tarnish and stains. Next, I scrub each piece down with my favorite cleaner and scrubber; Bar Keepers Friend and my Metapo cordless scrubber. Do not forget to also clean the screws to the hardware. Dry very well and install! 👍🏻
